Trainee Web Developer – Oxford

Full Time, Permanent

Our senior developers will train, mentor, and guide you to reach your goals, they will assist you with building up your skills and put them to use daily.

You’ll be part of a driven team, helping to develop educational products which really work to change the lives of knowledge-hungry students around the world.

What you need:


  • Knowledge of PHP (preferably with WordPress, but not essential).
  • Understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
  • Knowledge of ReactJS is a plus
  • Ability to work on data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Ability to output data in different formats via API
  • Exposure to automated testing platforms and unit tests


What you will do:

  • Work as part of an Agile team to build and deliver an MVP product
  • Build or integrate reusable code and libraries
  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

About us

Oxford Summer Courses was founded by a network of Oxford alumni, who were determined to share the magic of the university and the city with the wider world. Since launching in 2010, we have expanded rapidly around the world, have won a series of awards, and are one of the fastest growing education companies in the UK and Europe.

We are in the process of developing a suite of online courses to expand access to our exceptional educational experiences across the globe. This role will be vital to the development of these courses, working within an entirely new Agile team. The team will be tasked with creating, testing, and launching our new educational product to complement Oxford Summer Courses’ high quality in-person courses.
